About

Celeste Evans is the owner and founder of Moonriver Inn & Interiors in Narrowsburg, NY — a Delaware River inn that doubles as a living showroom for the vintage and mid-century pieces she sells online. Moonriver curates unique home decor with an emphasis on craftsmanship, longevity, and the warmth of a well-decorated space.

Her eye for interiors started early. Celeste grew up in a small town in California that runs on tourism and hospitality. Her childhood home was very small, and its constraints taught her how much a well-decorated space matters. She and her mother would spend time on weekends treasure hunting and often redecorating. Family trips throughout the West — and a particularly memorable trip to Alaska, staying in tiny bed & breakfasts along the way — planted the dream of one day owning an inn in a tucked-away, beautiful place.

Early jobs ranged across the hospitality and vintage worlds — among them, managing a vintage store in Santa Cruz, catering events throughout the Monterey Bay area, and even a summer cleaning houses. Together they fed her love of vintage, taught her what good service feels like from every side, and planted the dream of owning her own business. A career in environmental planning followed, taking her from San Francisco to New York City. This career deepened her understanding of how the human and physical environment depend on each other, and how the environment — both interior and exterior — shapes how we live.

Celeste moved to Narrowsburg in 2018, opened Moonriver Inn, and launched Moonriver Interiors in 2024. In 2025 she partnered with filmmaker Tina Spangler on The Art of Fanny Palmer exhibit, bringing Palmer's and Currier & Ives–related works to the public ahead of Spangler's documentary. In 2026, Moonriver Interiors had its first three shows at Brimfield — May, July, and September — a new chapter for the business that extended its reach well beyond the Catskills. That same year, Celeste consolidated the business at the Inn: a first-floor renovation expanded the lobby and common area, and every room is now furnished with pieces available through the online shop.

Celeste believes small businesses are the cornerstone of successful communities, and Narrowsburg — a town built on independent small businesses — has been the perfect place to evolve Moonriver over the past eight years.
