Details
A matched pair of squat bud vases from the 1950s–60s craft era: emerald green glass with a ruffled, gilt-edged lip, the body completely encrusted in a mosaic of natural crushed stone — quartz, granite, and flecks of rose and black — set in resin. The contrast between the rough stone body and the glossy green throat is the whole point. They look like something pulled out of a riverbed.
These were made as folk craft and souvenir pieces, usually one at a time, so a surviving matched pair is unusual. Unmarked.
- Pair, 1950s–60s
- Crushed natural stone over green glass, gilt-edged ruffled rim
- Approx. 3.5" H × 4" W each
- Stone fully intact on both; light wear to the gilt rims consistent with age
Sold as a pair.
